She understood.

I could feel it.

I don’t think Cora realises, but I just told her more than any of the others. I don’t know why, or where it came from. I just knew I could trust her.

Why did I hug her, though?

I’m not telling Mum. Or Dad. I’ve being doing my best to avoid them since Cora left.

It helped, though.

The one thing I’ve missed through everything is being close to someone. Properly close, not feeling I should be or pretending I am just to find some peace. I feel close to Cora. And I think she feels it, too.

All the same, I have to be careful. Being too open has burned me before. I can’t run away with this. I have to be sure.

But Cora understood me today.

For now, that’s enough.
